Philippa is an Associate in the Commercial Services team. She advises on a wide range of commercial, intellectually property (IP) and IT matters which includes drafting and advising on a wide variety of commercial agreements, advising on IP protection, data protection, procurement and competition law issues.

Philippa’s experience in the charity sector includes preparing agreements between charities and their trading subsidiaries for the use of IP and other assets, advising on trade mark ownership and licensing issues following a charity merger, preparing and advising on trade mark licences and terms and conditions of sale for the Wales Millennium Centre, preparing website terms and conditions and providing training on contract formation, factors to consider when contracting with third parties and setting up and operating a charity’s website.

A law graduate of Leicester University, Philippa spent a year teaching English in Japan before completing her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. Philippa trained at Freeth Cartwright LLP in the East Midlands and spent her first post qualification year in its Business Services team before joining Geldards in 2005. Philippa has spent time on secondment with public sector clients where she gained valuable experience in procurement and IP licensing issues in particular.
