Our People
Donna heads our defendant personal injury team acting on behalf of insurers, self insured corporations and public sector clients defending accident and industrial disease claims. She has been instructed by Invensys PLC since 1995 and is also instructed by two American corporations with UK subsidiaries.
After graduating from Manchester University and the College of Law Chester, Donna spent 12 years with law firm Eversheds in Cardiff, becoming a partner there in 1997. She joined Geldards as a partner in 2003.
Donna has specialised in defendant personal injury work since her qualification as a solicitor in 1992. She now specialises in industrial disease claims, particularly asbestos related and workplace stress claims. She regularly provides in house training and recently hosted a seminar on risk management for private care providers.
Donna is also a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers.
Her most recent reported case is Horsley v Cascade Insulation Services Ltd and others [2009] EWHC 2945 (QB) in which she successfully defended a substantial ‘lost years’ claim in a high value asbestosis claim in the Royal Courts of Justice. She also recently successfully defended a stress at work claim worth in the region of £300,000 and successfully recovered the employer’s legal costs from the Claimant’s ATE insurers.
