Healthcare Team Advise on Re-financing for Care Home Group

Members of the Healthcare team at Geldards have completed a re-financing for Mapara Investments Limited to provide capital to purchase a nursing home in Northampton.

Mapara Investments Limited is owned by Manoj Mapara who set-up his first care home, St Bennett's in Leicester in July 2000. Mr Mapara acquired Redruth Nursing Home in Northampton in 2008 and this funding has enabled him to acquire Cedarwood Nursing Home in Northampton.

This transaction involved a refinance of the current loans from another lender and securing further finance from Santander to acquire Cedarwood Nursing Home and is the most recent in a line of care home deals that have been instructed by Santander Corporate Bank.

Corporate Partner Hugh Strickland and Associate Jenny Allen completed the banking & corporate aspects of the work, with the property work within the transaction completed by Senior Associate Holly Walker from Geldards' Midlands property team.
